Biography

Set design for me is where I get to express my creativity and passion. With the arts being a sensory experience – set design tells us a visual story that creates an atmosphere and mood before the viewer learns the full scope of the story. Suggesting the style and tone of the whole production; giving the viewer clues as to the specific time and place of the action; offering creative possibilities for the movement and grouping of the actors. For me, props and fabrication are an integral part of any successful performance being experienced. As a Decorator, it is my job and main objective to ensure people who see my work become not only excited about it, but also impressed.

I was introduced to Film early after my years studying Fashion Design at Natal Technikon in my youth. I learned jewelry design and leather work. Later moving into Construction, where I worked for 4 years. Then in CFX, running teams doing fabrication of Props and onto set standby with the animatronics. Fabrication is where I owe my unique style, believing anything to be possible and no job too big attitude. With an out of the box perspective, I believe details are crucial. Fabrics, textiles and furniture design are my specialty, aging, dying layering, sewing to create the ultimate layering to the set.

I relish the freedom to create sets and work with inspiring Designers.

I adore every moment of my journey of creative possibilities, I’ve have travel to Malaysia, Morocco, Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia to Scotland having the opportunity to work along side the interesting creative people.

I look forward to more adventure!
