With over 20 years of experience as a Scenic Artist in the film industry, Rene Nel is a highly skilled and independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments. Motivated by excellence, Rene possesses exceptional time management, leadership, and organizational skills, allowing her to deliver outstanding results. She is a hardworking and efficient professional with a strong ability to multitask effectively.
Throughout her career, Rene has contributed her scenic art expertise to various notable projects and features. Her experience includes collaborating with renowned companies such as Sun Group Vietnam on projects like Asia Park & Dragon Park Halong and Banna Hills – French Village.
In addition to her project work, Rene has made significant contributions to numerous features, showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft. Notable positions held include Set Finisher, Scenic Foreman, and Head of Department Scenic roles. Some of her notable feature projects include Riff Raff (Zsuzsi Kismarty), Khanji (Simon Rogers), The Woman King (Akin Mckenzie), Tomb Raider (Gary Freeman), and Black Sails Season 3 (Wolf Kroeger).
Rene has also lent her artistic vision and creativity to the commercial industry as an Art Director and Lead Scenic Artist. Notable commercial projects she has worked on include Smokingun – Heineken (Herman Leppan), Monkey Films – Unisys (Craig Smit), Migrate Films – Project S (Maria Labuschagne), and Flying Fish (Claire Gritten).
